Astrid and Rico left their previous careers to run Dierenpension De Driehoek. A quiet environment, a regular routine and clean accommodation are central to their care. Aniday helps them keep the daily schedule organised too.

Astrid previously worked in insurance, while Rico worked in livestock transport. People already brought their dogs to stay with them during holidays. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to make it a business. Rico developed the facility in the early years, and Astrid later left her job to run it with him.

A boarding business built around routine

Accommodation is divided into small sections to minimise disturbance between dogs. The team follows set times for feeding, outdoor play and rest. That routine depends on knowing which guests are staying.

Know who is arriving and leaving

At the start of the day, Astrid can see how many dogs and cats are present. Arrivals and departures appear in the same view, giving her a quick picture of what is happening that day.

The layout also helps keep the dogs settled. Kennels do not face each other, reducing reactions when a guest is collected. Outdoor play is supervised, and the team makes an evening round. With arrivals, departures and care spread throughout the day, quick access to occupancy information is useful.

Clear for customers too

Customers place bookings through their own accounts. Astrid says they find this easy to use. She also values help through chat. In the interview, she noted that response times had improved and that she was happy with the support.

This interview took place on 27 October 2021.
